Monterey Bay Equestrians

As I write this we have just returned from Lake San Antonio and a fine time at the poker ride with good weather, great food, and time spent with friends. I will leave the details to Patti and Mike Garcia in the ride report. I will say that without Patti and Mike, the ride would not be the special event it is. They will, I’m sure, recognize the rest of the folks that make it happen.

My bit on spring and riding starts with Debra Means and a ride at Harvey Bear. It was a get to know: She and I, my horse and hers. It was a beautiful
experience start to finish with fine trails through the hills covered with wild flowers a few cattle some turkeys and a wild sow and her babies. This is a first for me. Usually you see what the pigs leave behind but as we rode through the cattle we noticed a pig standing alone. “What is she doing” and then the eight or so babies started running. Well it capped a beautiful ride.

Yes, I know they are not indigenous but that is another topic.
Best is, I had a great time with Debra and it confirms that I have met the best folks through my horses. And I met more new people at the poker ride.
I will always go back to my first ride with MBE. That would be Wilder almost four years ago. I hauled in alone but I have been welcome ever since.

I cannot say thank you enough.I look forward to seeing you on the trail.
