To my MBE family:
Well summer is finally here. I hope all of you have had the opportunity to be out with your horses. I have been the weekend warrior with my guy. But, as of this week I am off for the summer. So please give me a call I am looking for riding partners. It seems we have all been busy with life outside of the horse. I personally became a nonnie (nonnie=Italian for grandma) on June 15th. Matt and I have a beautiful (no really not just nonnie speaking here) baby girl. Her name is Stella. I can’t wait to get her on a horse.
I am looking forward to Jack Brooks. Matt likes to call it 5 star camping. I am thinking about the food, fun, friends, and of course riding. I want to thank Liz and Margaret for doing all the work for this ride. You ladies rock. Well the sun is shinning and my horse is calling me. Happy trails.
Ride on,
Deb
This months recipe: Horsedoeuvres
Carrot Crispies
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 apple, chopped in small pieces
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup bran
- triscuits ( or other salty crackers)
Combine carrots, apples, molasses and bran, mix thoroughly. Scoop a small ball on triscuits and refrigerate overnight. Carrot Crispies will hold their shape if they are kept cool, but be careful: they get somewhat crumbly at room temperature.
