From now on the MBE membership will be called the “gift cavalry” because the day was most certainly saved by all your chivalrous donations to our cause!

Our 2010 Prize Corral was jam packed with cellophanes and raffiaed prize baskets filled, once again, by our dedicated and generous membership and business donors. We had four picnic tables decorated with donations of all shapes and sizes. I can’t tell you how much our MBE membership came to the rescue to fill the corral with gifts. There’s not enough ways to let you all know how your giving is appreciated… if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a whole bunch and only because it is true… The success of our fund raiser would not happen if it wasn’t for you… MANY, MANY THANKS! May the trail gods give you golden hills to climb, cool clean rivers to cross, switchback canyons to traverse, plentiful trees to travel under, a steadfast four legged companion to carry you on your adventure and the wisdom to know, how lucky you are!

There is a personal thank you that goes out to the prize corral team that runs with very little oil provided by me. Not only do they glamorize the whole enchilada they make my job easier and since I live at the “Lazy M Ranch” I’m always liking anyone who’s willing to make chores not only simple but fun. These are the gals that accomplish that task in hearts and spades; Lois Connell, Maribeth Hogoboom, Diane Pinto, Kim Schnittger and Caroline Spicher. You want something done, now these are the cowgirls that make it happen without much ado… MUCHAS GRACIAS MI AMIGAS! One little aside is a thank you to my sister Connie Welch who has helped me the past three years, taking care of all the gifts we receive the week before the Poker Ride. You can’t imagine the mess there is to organize. It takes over the whole bedroom and is pretty scary. Sometimes, someone gets a little crabby (who me?!) and so, thank you ‘Sea Star’ for jumping in where few dare to go!
